SPFL Premiership matches to be broadcast in Germany

German television channel sportdigital will broadcast the coming SPFL Premiership season after recovering the broadcast rights one year after they were relinquished.

The channel announced the deal yesterday alongside confirmation that they have also acquired rights for the Belgian Jupiler League.

Scottish football has been acquired to replace the Polish Ekstraklasa for which the TV rights are not available in Germany in the forthcoming season.

The Hamburg-based broadcaster will begin its coverage of the Premiership on August 13 and the match between champions Celtic and Scottish Cup winners St Johnstone.
