Sports psychologist suggests how Ally McCoist can best galvanise his troops

ELEVEN Rangers players will tomorrow step on to an Ibrox pitch shortly before 3pm and be expected to go do their job as if the match against Kilmarnock is just another Saturday.

The febrile atmosphere surrounding the club has ensured that all talk of form, dodgy hamstrings and title chases has been replaced by the verbiage of company voluntary agreements, administration and tax liabilities.

One of the major tasks facing Ally McCoist, the Rangers manager, is to prepare a team mentally for the challenge ahead. He has already addressed the players, but his work in this area will continue throughout a tempestuous, unprecedented spell for the club.
