Christian Nade has been released by Dundee as work begins in earnest to piece together a squad capable of holding its own in the SPFL Premiership next season.

The hulking striker scored in the dramatic 2-1 victory over Dumbarton which secured automatic promotion this season but will not return to Dens Park after the summer. Nade was recruited in January and now leaves alongside reserve goalkeeper John Gibson.

Gavin Rae announced last night that he was leaving Dundee of his own volition. The midfielder - who served as captain last season - is emigrating to Australia.
