ALAN STUBBS, the Hibernian coach, believes he can offer "something different" to bring Scott Allan's stalled career back to life.

Allan was once regarded as one of the stars of his generation when he burst into the Dundee United first team, but his career has since stalled, with former managers questioning his work ethic and commitment.

But Stubbs is adamant he can help to rehabilitate the new Hibs midfielder. "I feel as if I can offer Scott something different to what he's seen," he said.

"As managers, we can dismiss people too easily. I'm not saying I'm the messiah, I can't change everyone, but I'll do my best."
