David Beckham has not been picked for the British Olympic football squad.
The 37-year-old had hoped to be one of three overage players chosen by Olympic team coach Stuart Pearce, but it is understood those berths are going to Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards.
Beckham said: "Everyone knows how much playing for my country has always meant to me, so I would have been honoured to have been part of this unique Team GB squad.
