Peterhead will relish their return to Hampden on Wednesday for the play-off semi-final first leg, after a 3-0 win over Queen's Park.
Bryan Gilfillan headed the visitors into the lead, before Andy Rodgers struck a second.
Rodgers then turned supplier to set up Dean Cowie to net a third for Peterhead, taking their winning streak to eight games – during which Jim McInally's side have scored 25 goals and conceded just one.
Elgin City's 3-2 victory over East Stirling fell well short of the winning margin needed to snatch a play-off spot.
Jamie Duff and later Stuart Leslie were on target for the hosts, but the visitors levelled on each occasion through Jamie Glasgow and Paul Quinn. Ceiran McLean got Elgin's late winner, but it was too little, too late.
At Galabank, Montrose and Annan Athletic fought out a 1-1 draw, with Scott Johnston putting the visitors into the lead and Michael Daly equalising.
Elsewhere, Stirling Albion fought back to beat Clyde 2-1 at Broadwood. Stefan McCluskey put the hosts ahead after five minutes but their downfall began after the break when Iain Gray was dismissed and Jordan White equalised from the spot. Ross McGeachie fired home a winner with 10 minutes left.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
