HALF of the games on the opening weekend of the Ladbrokes Premiership season will be screened live.

Celtic will kick off the new campaign at home to Ross County at 12.30pm on August 1 with the game shown on Sky Sports.

Hearts will make their return to the top flight 24 hours later when they host St Johnstone in a game shown by BT Sport and Sky will show Dundee United's clash with Aberdeen at Tannadice at 3.30pm.

Motherwell's trip to Inverness will also be moved to the Sunday if the William Hill Scottish Cup holders overcome Romanian side Astra in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.

Lower-division clubs play in the first round of the League Cup that weekend.
