Scotland, the defending champions, finished in last place when they concluded their Sky Sports Victory Shield under-16 campaign with a 2-1 defeat by England at Yeovil's Huish Park,

The Scots had already lost to Northern Ireland and Wales and it was the Welsh who were the outright winners for the first time since 1948 by defeating their Irish hosts 2-0 to complete a clean sweep of wins.

Scotland started brightly but fell behind in 28 minutes when Arsenal's Joe Willock drilled home a low shot from the edge of the box.

The Scots drew level six minutes into the second half after Jack Adamson's free kick over the wall crashed off the bar and substitute Jack Thomson pounced.

England secured the winner six minutes later with a solo effort from Chelsea striker Martell Taylor-Crossdale.
