WEEKS of lamenting a lack of signings has led Barry Smith to add two new faces over the past seven days.

Lewis Toshney agreed a one-year loan deal from Celtic yesterday and follows fellow loanee Colin Nish into the Dundee squad for the match with Ross County this afternoon.

The Dundee manager is also able to call upon captain Stephen O'Donnell for the match after his successful appeal against the red card he picked up in last week's Dundee derby. Given the difficulties they have had in adjusting to their return to the top flight his availability against County is a real positive.

"It was an anxious few days to wait before finding out the decision but now I'm just glad it's all over," said O'Donnell. "It wasn't nice this week wondering if I would be available to play or not but I just kept my head down and trained as normal."

Normal service for County has been maintaining an unbeaten run that now stretches to 37 matches. The Highland club have been quietly impressive in their first season in the top flight and you would expect them to continue when they make the trip to Dens Park.

"The unbeaten run is enjoyable, there's no pressure," said Grant Munro, the County defender. "We're in the SPL and nobody expects us to keep it going. Nobody expected us to keep it going until now and I'm sure everyone thought it would have gone last weekend against Celtic.

"We've probably not been given the credit we deserve. If a team in the central belt was on a run like that then I think they'd get a bit more praise. But that's okay. Maybe being under the radar has helped us along the way.

"Whatever happens, the run is something that we will look back on with great pride when we finish playing football."
