THE Polish Football Association officially gave the go-ahead to play their friendly with Scotland next month at Warsaw's National Stadium, despite security scares.
Scotland will play their first match this year against the Poles, but there were major doubts about the match going ahead after local police and fire brigade warned they would not be able to provide cover for the friendly.
Police had concerns over anti-hooligan measures and the fire brigade say the National Stadium - despite being only opened two years ago - is impossible to safely evacuate in the event of a fire.
Over 2000 supporters are due to travel to Warsaw, but they will be relieved after talks between the Polish FA and security staff resolved the issue. "After reports that the game between Poland and Scotland on March 5 was threatened, we can now confirm the game will go ahead as planned," said a statement.
"The police, after examining new documents provided, have agreed there are no safety concerns and we again look forward to having a good relationship with the security forces."
