Jim McIntyre, the Ross County manager, is convinced that Jackson Irvine's return to action will lead to a revival of fortunes for the Highland side.

The on-loan Celtic midfielder is available to play against St Mirren tomorrow having been ineligible to face his parent club last weekend, when County lost 5-0 at home. Irvine was missed during the match as the Dingwall side toiled in midfield.

McIntyre - whose side trail St Mirren by just three points in the league table - is expected to restore the midfield to the starting XI tomorrow. "Jackson Irvine will be back in against St Mirren," said the County manager. "His drive and energy - and quality - on the ball was missed last weekend."
