Wenger admits to doubts over ability

Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager, has acknowledged that he questioned his own ability to deliver success to the London club during a nine-year trophy drought.

That wait ended on Saturday night with a 3-2 extra-time win over Hull City in the FA Cup final and Wenger is now expected to sign an extension to his contract before the start of the World Cup.

"I question myself," said Wenger. "[But] consistency is important for the club and there are only two other clubs in Europe who have 17 years consecutively qualified for the Champions League."
