Signed for Norwich in the summer of 2012; at a press conference alongside Everton-bound Steven Naismith he explained: "From a football point of view, I think it's best to continue my career elsewhere." He reckoned the club would not be in the SPL next season, and had no European football, either. His new side, the Canaries, were relegated from the Premier League in May 2014 but have bounced back at the first time of asking. Twenty-nine Scotland caps.

The then Forest manager, Billy Davies, had reportedly tabled a £500,000 offer for him. Eight Scotland caps.

Rhys McCabe:

Sheffield Wednesday recently announced the release of McCabe and 10 other players at conclusion of 2014/15 campaign. The young midfielder had left Rangers as a free agent in 2012, where he had once been seen as a hot prospect. In August 2012 he said nobody from the club had ever contacted him to explain what his options might be - the lack of dialogue causing him to object to his contract being transferred from Rangers Football Club plc to The Rangers Football Club. McCabe said he felt he was being railroaded into making a decision when he did not know what the club's future would be.
