You're having a laugh . . .

THERE is still a sense of disbelief in the air at Motherwell, an outright refusal to accept the altered landscape in which the club finds itself following Rangers' collapse into administration.

But the facts of the matter are plain enough.

Not only does the 10-point penalty imposed upon the Ibrox club, the prospect of imminent squad cuts, and their own resurgent form, give Stuart McCall's side legitimate hopes of overhauling Rangers in second place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, but the requirement upon the Glasgow club to file satisfactory accounts by the end of March in order participate in European competition next season means that even maintaining third place might be enough for Motherwell to earn a Champions League qualifier in July.
