England's Paul Casey shot 66 for the second successive day to move into a three-way tie for seventh place midway through day two of the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina.

The 38-year-old climbed 15 places and was three shots off leader Tom Hoge on Friday, who topped the leaderboard with 11 under par after a round of 67 on the second day.

Tiger Woods was tied for fourth through 13 holes on nine under, alongside Jim Herman and William McGurt who were both still out on the course, and Brandt Snedeker.

Snedeker, who started on the back nine, recorded 61 for the day to climb 100 places and move to nine under overall after a round of 70 on the opening day.

The American carded a flawless round which included nine birdies to leave him sitting two off the lead heading into the weekend.

Davis Love III returned to the clubhouse on 10 under after he also shot a round of 66 which included five birdies and a bogey.

Scotland's Martin Laird finished on four under for the day and six under in total after a round of 66, which included seven birdies and three bogeys, while Australia's Adam Scott scored 69 to sit on four under
