Did you know that Rory McIlroy signed 6350 autographs during the 2015 campaign? Of course you didn’t … neither did he. He also wheezed his way through 6800 press ups, spent 350 hours hurtling through the sky in a plane and had just 18 days off. It sounds like a normal year for The Herald golf correspondent to be honest.

It seems the all-seeing eye that is cutting edge technology has been watching McIlroy with the microscopic gaze of a lab technician peering at some cells in a petri dish and the former world No 1 has been left surprised by the various facts and figures. From travel to training regimes, McIlroy’s sponsors, Santander, have charted his movements throughout the year with a mobile phone App called Spendlytics that is usually used to tell customers how much money they spend and where they spend it.

"When you are in the middle of it, you don't realise because it's what you do and then you step back and get presented with the numbers and you're like 'wow'," said McIlroy. "It's an interesting look at how I spend my most precious commodity, my time. They're comparing it with the money people are spending, but it's the same thing."

Don’t ask this scribe to explain how this thingymebob works, though. I’m still getting to grips with the complexities of the mangle. So, have you ever wondered how a golfing superstar spends his time? Then wonder no more. Here’s the list below…..
