Scotland's male and female national Opens will be staged at Gullane next season.

The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, won by Rickie Fowler at Gullane in 2015, will return to the East Lothian links in 2018 while the women's showpiece will be played over the same course a fortnight later.

Both championships, which are among the most lucrative on the European Tour and the LPGA Tour, will be held the week before the Open and the Women's British Open respectively.

“Both events are amongst the most highly regarded on their respective Tours and have become sought after fixtures ahead of both the men’s and ladies' Open Championships," said Martin Gilbert, the chief executive of the Aberdeen Asset Management.
