BMW Italian Open: Trio of Scots struggling with injury

Colin Montgomerie is struggling with a torn calf muscle, Gary Orr has a swollen right knee and Alastair Forsyth is desperate to wrap-up his Tour card despite a niggling wrist injury heading into today's opening round.

Montgomerie underwent an MRI scan on his left leg last week having sustained the injury at the European Open in Switzerland and was subsequently forced to miss the KLM Open in the Netherlands which ended on Sunday. He will wear a special DVT airline sock while he is taking a course of anti-inflamatories this week and will wear a new pair of shoes to alleviate the problem.
