Despite an upset stomach all week in Morocco, Pamela Pretswell signed off with a 69 for a six-under-par aggregate of 278 and a joint eighth finish behind two-stroke winner Gwladys Nocera of France in the Ladies European Tour's Lalla Meryem Cup tournament event which ended today at Golf de L'Ocean, Agadir on Morocco's western Atlantic coastline.
The Hamilton player's earlier rounds were 70, 68 and 71 against a par of 71. She earned 10,350 euros.
Pamela, who was probably glad to get back to the clubhouse, said later: "Delighted with my result this weekend as I haven't been well this week unfortunately! But played some solid golf and delighted to have my third top 10 in a row. This is my sixth top 10 on the LET in total.
"I was planning on come home to play on the Ladies Tartan Tour event at Murcar Links Thursday-Friday this week but sadly I won't be playing
"I need a few days' rest to recover from this trip to Morocco and get back to full fitness. Should be back in Scotland on Monday.
"Hope all goes well at Murcar and I will hopefully be able to play some other Ladies Tartan Tour events throughout the season."
Kyle Walker, the only other Scot to make the cut in Morocco, had a peaks-and-troughs tournament with rounds of 77-66-71-79 for 293 and a joint 64th place finish.
Nocera started the day with a two-shot lead and a closing 70 saw the 39-year-old finish 13 under par, two clear of English duo Melissa Reid and Felicity Johnson and South African Nicole Garcia.
"I remember last year when Charley (Hull) kept on getting birdies in the last round, so I knew this morning that it could happen," said Nocera, who lost to Hull in a play-off 12 months ago.
"All I kept saying was I need to play my game and make as many birdies as I can. It was a tough day towards the end. I took a really stupid double bogey (on the 14th) which put me in trouble.
"I missed one fairway today and I took a double bogey, so that was a shame, but I wanted this tournament really bad. I've always said it, and I'm really happy I did it."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
