Lloyd Saltman scored a rare win as a professional in the Jamega Tour's 36-hole event at Quinta do Vale, Monchique, in Portugal's Algarve region, writes Colin Farquharson.

The Archerfield man had five birdies and a double bogey at the par-3 ninth on his way to the £2000 first prize secured with a five-under-par aggregate of 139 (68, 71).

His older brother Elliot, the joint leader overnight, had a double bogey 6 at the 15th in a 73 for 141 to share second with England's Tom Whitehouse (69, 72) and Portugal's Tiago Cruz (73, 68). Each won £1056.
