Ireland's Shane Lowry, up from 128th to 74th in the world rankings after winning the Portugal Masters on Sunday, has abandoned plans to enter the US PGA Tour qualifying school.
The 25-year-old was scheduled to fly to the States for the first stage of qualifying this week, but has now entered next week's BMW Masters in Shanghai instead. He has also earned a place in the WGC-HSBC Champions event at Mission Hills the following week.
