Peter Houston backs manager’s lone striker approach

Peter Houston, the Scotland assistant manager, has suggested Craig Levein could resist the temptation to draft both Kris Boyd and James McFadden back into his side for the Euro 2012 qualifier with Liechtenstein.

It had been widely expected that Levein, whose side got their campaign under way with a disappointing 0-0 draw with Lithuania in Kaunas on Friday night, would recall Boyd and McFadden.
