Youth football investigation. Part 3: dreadful facilities, poor promotion, inadequate coaching, naive administration, rotten weather . . . is it any wonder Scotland is lagging behind?

ACCORDING to those who have glimpsed it, Henry McLeish’s review of youth football makes no concessions to brevity.

Voluminous and detailed, it is being pondered over by the SFA’s board prior to its abbreviated public unveiling later this month.

Let’s hope the former first minister has taken evidence judiciously.
