With new regulations meaning each nation can only enter one athlete for each event, performance director Dave Brailsford and the rest of the selectors have agonised for several months over whether to nominate Hoy or Jason Kenny, the man the Scot beat in the Beijing final four years ago, for the sprint. Yesterday, their decision was announced. "Both Chris and Jason are on great form and that made it a difficult choice but we believe this gives us the strongest team possible going into the Games," said Brailsford.
