Team GB to keep 'chipping away'

Rose Anderson claims Great Britain's women will settle for nothing less than victory when they face the United States tonight in Manchester in their penultimate friendly before the Olympics, writes Pete Jamieson.

The 2008 gold medallists have not lost a game in eight years, but Team GB have proved they are no pushovers with recent wins over Czech Republic, runners-up to the USA at the 2010 world championships, and medal hopefuls France.

"It's good to know we can compete at this level," said Anderson, the Edinburgh-born guard. "But we've moved past that question now. We know we can, because we're beating top teams.

"All we can do against the USA is keep doing what we do, which is working hard and chipping away. We're not going to be sitting in that locker room feeling intimidated. We're going to go out believing we can match up to them."

n Joel Freeland is set to return for Great Britain's men in their friendly against the USA tomorrow after completing his move to the NBA's Portland Trailblazers.
