The Tenner Bet

Remember last week's Tenner Bet?

You know, the one about hard luck stories. Well, I've been thinking about that column and I've come to the conclusion that it wasn't so much misfortune as the predominance of freak occurrences which cost me. And we continued in that vain last weekend what with Swansea City 3-0 and then 4-1 up against Wolverhampton Wanderers only to be pegged back by Terry Connor's relegated side to 4-4. I suppose I'm fixating on this a bit too much, though. For example, it's not as if West Bromwich Albion had a shot cleared off the line against Aston Villa to deny them a win in their game at The Hawthorns (my other pick for those who have forgotten). In truth, that game should probably have gone Villa's way and perhaps exposed my lack of patience in trying to create a plausible argument for a West Brom win. The logical conclusion is that this is an illogical time of the football season and should be steered clear of.
