Plenty have presented themselves as experts not only in his personal circumstances but his long-term career prospects and ambitions since it emerged he was prepared to move from Hearts to Rangers, nosediving from the Clydesdale Bank Premier League to the Irn-Bru Third Division. The talented, hot-and-cold, entertaining little figure of Templeton was an unlikely focus of the most controversial move of transfer deadline day.
