AFTER only two rounds of games in the Scottish Cities & Counties Championship, only two teams in each of the four sections remain unbeaten and only two teams retain pole position in their respective sections.
There's little movement in the South Section where defending champions Lanarkshire South stay top after beating Ayrshire South 122-111, but their shots margin was cut to just seven shots as second placed Wigtownshire scored a 118-98 win against Glasgow East to boost their shots account to 48.
Dumfriesshire were nosed out on the finishing line 111-113 as David Thomson's rink counted the vital single shot for victory on the last end to give the thumbs up to Dumbarton East and they stay in third place, sharing the two point landing with Renfrew South, Dumbarton East and Glasgow.
2013 champions Edinburgh & Leith also stay in pole position, and have a healthy 58 shot margin at the top ahead of nearest unbeaten rivals Borders who have 4.
The capital city side edged a narrow nine shot 116-107 away win in their table topping clash against Fife and for the second week in succession Borders secured the points from a single-digit victory, this time taking the scalp of last year's beaten finalists West Lothian 127-124.
In the North Section only seven shots separate unbeaten pacesetters Bon Accord and Angus as previous section leader Perth drop to fifth spot.
Bon Accord won the battle for top spot when they beat Perth 118-99 while Angus got home 123-111 against Aberdeen & Kincardine.
Northern Counties were the top scorers crushing Dundee 146-89 to move up to third spot and Buchan's 130-113 win over Highland sees them move to fourth place. Glasgow West are the new leaders in the West Section with Stirling County West in second place, only thirteen shots adrift.
Both teams scored away wins, with Glasgow posting four winning rinks in their 117-102 win against Argyll & Bute while Stirling got the better of Dumbarton West 124-117.
Last year's section winners Lanarkshire West went down to Ayrshire North 129-115 and by four rinks to two and drop to sixth place.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
