Curling: Scotland slide into play-off against hosts

Scotland's women kept their title defence at the Le Gruyere European Championships on track yesterday when they defeated Russia 6-5 in their final round-robin tie, writes Mike Haggerty in  Karlstad, Sweden.

It earned them second place in the final rankings and a place in the top Page Play-off game today against group leaders Sweden, which ensures they have two chances to reach tomorrow's final.
