Dumfriesshire win on countback after quarter-final is cut short by weather

West Lothian, Lanarkshire South and Dumfriesshire all booked a berth in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cities & Counties championships at the weekend, but the fourth team will not be known until Friday after the match between Edinburgh & Leith and Lanarkshire West had to be called off because of the adverse weather, writes Anne Dunwoodie.

West Lothian managed to get their quarter-final against Ayrshire North played at Vale of Leven over the two greens. West Lothian, who came out on top with a 144-97 victory, now face Lanarkshire South, the 153-81 winners against Northern Counties at Raploch.
