CHARLIE FLYNN will make the second appearance of his fledgling professional career against Nigerian journeyman Ideh Ochuko, at the Thistle Hotel on March 6.

The 34 year-old has a ring resume of six wins, with one knock-out and 12 losses from 18 fights and interestingly enough beat Flynn's debut opponent Ibrar Riyaz on points over eight rounds, three weeks before the Commonwealth Games Gold medallist did the same after four three minute sessions.

The orthodox Ochuko is particularly durable and is one of the few men to have gone the distance with knock-out specialist and British lightweight title contender Scotty Cardle and Flynn's manager Alex Morrison has no doubt that the Nigerian will prove an obdurate opponent for his charge.

Morrison said: "Ochuko is tough and durable and has never been stopped and he has had some recent success when he beat Riyaz to win the International Bronze Masters so what that means is we have a guy here who has ambition and so it will be a different fight to the Riyaz one for Charlie.

"At this stage of Charlie's career we want to him to have to deal with different styles of fighter and Ochuko is short and squat at five foot five and he will be an awkward proposition for Charlie.

"But he showed against Riyaz that he can adapt to the different challenges he is posed and I think that where Ochuko will be different to Riyaz is that he won't just be looking to survive but will have more of a go.

"So Charlie may have to box off the back foot at some stage in this one where he was almost totally on the offensive against Riyaz."

Morrison is also excited about some of the other exciting young talent from his fight stable that will feature on the March 6 show at the Thistle.

The doyen of the Scottish fight scene said: "Once again it is a great card with the best prospects in Scotland on show including Joe Ham, Stuart Burt and Ryan Smith while Jon Slowey will also look to continue working his way back into title contention."
