Bathgate's Dario Franchitti missed out on a third successive top-three finish after an early crash forced him to settle for fourth in Race 2 of the Toronto IndyCar double-header.
The Ganassi team soon got him back on track and the 40-year-old carved his way through the field, but he narrowly failed to add to his podium finishes at Pocono and in race one in Canada. "It wasn't a bad recovery after I got a bit greedy in turn one and broke the front wing," he said. "I have to thank the boys for fixing the car; it was fast."
Franchitti is up to joint sixth in the standings ahead of a three-week break from racing, although a fifth IndyCar title looks virtually impossible as he still trails the leader Helio Castroneves by 118 points.
