RISING teenage star Hamish Imrie has added another significant notch to his rapidly growing CV.

The 18-year-old striker won the top goalscorer award at the EuroHockey Club Champions Trophy hosted by Three Rock Rovers in Dublin at the weekend.

His haul included a glory treble in Grange's final game, a 5-0 thrashing of Italian side SG Amiscora.

That allowed the Edinburgh side to finish fifth in the competition and the personal award rounded off a fantastic few weeks for Imrie, a former Hibs FC signing, who has just finished a sports coaching course at Edinburgh College.

On the field, Imrie's goals helped Grange win a domestic double, the Scottish Cup and play-off title, and come second to Kelburne in Division One in Scotland.

He has also made his debut for the Scotland senior team and the icing on the cake came with a goal for his country against Spain in Barcelona.

Several months ago, Imrie also played his first game for Great Britain at Under-21 level in Malaysia and opened his goal-scoring account against Australia.

The former Fettes pupil has bounced back after a serious knee injury which kept him out of the game for around a year.

Colin Clarke, Grange's coach, praised his squad for their performance in Dublin.

They only lost 3-2 to SC Stroitel Brest in their opening game after leading 1-0 and drawing 1-1 at half-time.

The most successful club in Belarus then went on to win the event with a 3-1 victory over Czech Republic side SK Slavia Praha.

Clarke said: "Grange played the best hockey of all the teams in the tournament, open attacking hockey.

"We failed to take opportunities in the first two games but, overall, our standard of play was superb."

Grange also had a big support with them including an Under-14 team who were also playing in a special tournament.
