Haq: they are the ones that got caught but there will be others

Scotland's leading cricketer, Majid Haq, backed the jail sentences handed out to the Pakistan trio, Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir yesterday, but said he thought the problem of spot-fixing extended beyond a small number of players on the international circuit.

Haq, who has developed into one of Scotland’s best all-round performers, and has already made more than 100 appearances for his country, shared the general concern at the way the scandal had stained the sport, but echoed the widespread view that the convicted players were not the only well-known performers to break the law.
