Ice Hockey: Clan left in the lurch after coach Bannister quits club

BRAEHEAD CLAN have begun the search for a new head coach after the sudden departure of Drew Bannister.

The Elite League side were rocked by the news the Canadian was heading back to his homeland after accepting the offer to become assistant coach of junior side Owen Sound Attack.

The deal emerged just two weeks after the 38-year-old committed his future to the Renfrewshire club for next season, with Clan now facing their second off-season in a row without a head coach.
