Judo: European Open to be staged in Glasgow

Glasgow is to host a major international event for the first time, with the Emirates Arena confirmed as the venue for the men's European Open on October 19-20.

It will be the first time Scotland has staged the event which will feature some of the leading male judoka from London 2012, as well as Glasgow 2014 hopefuls.

The British Judo Association plans to use Glasgow to host major international events. It is also proposed host city for the 2015 European Championships and will support British Judo in their bid to stage the competition ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
