KENYAN duo David Toniok and Japhet Koech are set to renew their rivalry in Sunday's Edinburgh Marathon after both were confirmed in the field for this year's race.

Toniok, 30, will defend his title - 12 months after winning the capital event in 2 hours, 15 minutes and 33 seconds - with Koech looking to go one better after coming second last time.

But the duo will be challenged by Ethiopia's Ebisa Merga, who has a best of 2:12:03, as well as former Krakow winner Peter Wanjiru, with England's Commonwealth Games competitor Steve Way heading the domestic contingent.

Joan Kigen of Kenya will start as favourite in the women's race with Windsor's Charlotte Firth the leading Briton.
