League proposal continues to drive wedge between clubs

THE issue which has caused a rift in Scottish cricket looks likely to continue as opposition grows against plans for a new regional set-up.

Officials at Cricket Scotland last week abandoned their earlier plans for a streamlined Scottish National Cricket League.

That decision has now led to concerns that some of the 19 clubs that voted for the national structure could now rebel against the governing body’s latest proposal. Two of those clubs – Dunfermline Knights and West of Scotland – have already called emergency meetings in response to Cricket Scotland’s decision to change their mind.
