Maldonado was brought before race stewards for the third time in four races after Sunday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
In Monaco, the Venezuelan was given a 10-place grid penalty for running into Sauber's Sergio Perez, the Mexican later branding the Williams driver as "crazy". In the European Grand Prix in Valencia a fortnight ago Maldonado sent McLaren's Lewis Hamilton into a barrier in the penultimate lap as they battled for third place.
