She loves sci-fi programmes, has a penchant for pizza and chocolate, relishes travelling to foreign climes, and seems happier with her immediate circle of friends than blowing her own trumpet to strangers. So far, so normal. And yet, when McIntosh picks up her rifle, concentrates her sights on the target, and slams the door shut on any distractions, she is a woman capable of exploits which would have taxed the skills of Annie Oakley.
