Millar, who received a two-year suspension, following a positive test for the banned substance, EPO, in 2004, had previously declared he had no wish to compete in the Olympics as "a black sheep", but has recently received a vote of confidence from two of the biggest names in British cycling –world champion Mark Cavendish, and the governing body's performance director, Dave Brailsford.
