Racing: The best has yet to come from Certify, claims Al Zarooni

TRAINER Mahmood Al Zarooni believes there is more to come from Certify, whose unbeaten record is on the line in the Shadwell Fillies' Mile at Newmarket this afternoon.

The daughter of Elusive Quality looked a smart recruit to the Godolphin ranks when making an impressive debut in the mud at Newmarket's July meeting, and she confirmed that impression when winning the Sweet Solera Stakes at the same track.

She completed a wins hat trick in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster and now returns to Newmarket, albeit running on the Rowley Mile, as she aims to grab her first Group 1 prize and cement her position as ante-post favourite for next year's 1000 Guineas.Al Zarooni said: "Certify did a nice, building piece of work on Saturday and she looks in good form. She showed she is a good filly in the May Hill because she kicked off a slow pace. It's usually not very easy to win from behind if there is no pace and she still showed a little bit of greenness."She is learning with racing and I hope she will be better again this time. It looks like a tough race with some nice fillies in the field but I am hopeful of another good run from her."Certify's classic credentials look set for a thorough examination, with another unbeaten filly, the Mick Channon-trained Ollie Olga, heading the opposition. She made it three wins from as many starts when winning Goodwood's Prestige Stakes last month and was forced to withdraw from the May Hill after coming into season the day before the race. Channon said: "She's in great heart and we will find out how good she is now. I think she's very good and she's the type of filly who only does enough at home, but when she turns up at the races she's totally different. I think she'd go on any ground, but better ground suits her best. I think that's probably the case for most of them."Winsili looks to be held in high regard by her trainer John Gosden, having been supplemented for this race, despite defeat at Ascot last time. Prior to that reverse, the Khalid Abdullah-owned juvenile impressed on her racecourse introduction on the July Course, and racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe is hoping for further improvement.He said: "Winsili is in good form and we hope she's progressive as she will need to be as this is a big step up to a Group 1. She was staying on really well at Ascot and we hope she will run well."Harry Dunlop's Roz trailed home last on her debut at Salisbury, but has won twice since. She has not been seen since winning a Listed race at Sandown in July, but trainer Dunlop believes his filly has benefited from the time off.He said: "I have been very happy with her progress and it was pleasing to see Purr Along finish second to Certify at Doncaster because that boosts our form after we beat Purr Along at Sandown."Understandably, it is going to be a tough race, but I am very pleased with Roz. She has improved for the time she has had off the track and she will probably come into her own next year, so that break after Sandown has done her the world of good."I think the step up in trip will suit as she won over a stiff seven [furlongs] at Sandown and, naturally, you would expect the Newmarket mile to be fine for her."
