Kyles Athletic double hero Roddy MacDonald hopes the Tighnabruaich club can take their Cup-winning form into next week's vital summit clash with champions Newtonmore.
The Scotland forward was on target twice in the first five minutes of Saturday's 4-2 victory over Oban Camanachd in the Gregor Cameron Consultancy Glasgow Celtic Society final at Taynuilt.
That cushion was vital as the Argyll outfit managed to keep a very good Oban side at arms length in front of the live BBC Alba cameras to lift the south area championship.
Kyles have started strongly this campaign and, with one trophy now in the cabinet, it could be a significant season on the Kyles of Bute.
Marksman MacDonald certainly hopes so, with a top of the table clash with More next on the cards. "We got off to a great start against Oban and that settled any nerves we might have had. It was always really important as I felt Oban were very good. To be honest, I didn't think it was a 4-2 game because it was even for large parts of the game.
"We've had a good start this season and we've been fortunate because we've had players back and we've managed to keep a similar side.
"We just need to keep it going now. We've got a huge game next Saturday against Newtonmore and it would be great if we can do something there and keep challenging in the league title race."
Dunky Kerr and Thomas Whyte were also on target for Kyles, with Oban netting through Lorne Dickie and Andrew MacCuish.
One down side for the Tighabruaich outfit will be the impending loss of international centre back Donald Irvine for the business end of their season.
Irvine is a doctor and is being posted in New Zealand for six months. His steadying influence and big hitting from the back will be missed but the Cup winners will be looking to adapt in their quest for further silverware.
