Drew McNeil, the Scotland manager, has included three players from surprise team Lovat in his 19-man squad as he aims to achieve a first victory over Ireland's hurlers since 2008 at Nowlan Park in Kilkenny.

The Lovat trio of Callum Cruden, Stuart MacDonald and Drew Howie are in a squad captained again by Newtonmore's Norman Campbell. The first leg is in Inverness on October 20 and the return leg in Ennis the following Saturday.

"I had some difficult decisions to make as there was a high number of talented, committed players available to choose from," said McNeil. "I am confident we have players who can help us lift the International Series Trophy."

Scotland's Under-21s will be captained by the Newtonmore defender Rory Kennedy.
