The future of Edinburgh Monarchs is in doubt but a decision has been put on hold for two weeks while directors consider the options and try to plug their funding gap.

Directors have put funds into the club this season and have now opened the doors for further investment, while John Campbell has confirmed that he is to step down as co-promoter after 29 seasons with the club.
The club has endured its worst season financially and the announcement comes only hours after Monarchs' Premier League rivals Berwick Bandits said that they had not decided if they would run next season as they try to attract a new main sponsor while Glasgow Tigers were recently sold to a Danish-based businessman.
