Warm welcome for newest Clan member

Joe Myers admitted yesterday that having two familiar faces around was a big attraction as he signed up for Braehead Clan.

The 27-year-old Welsh netminder joins forward Ben Davies and coach Ryan Finnerty in Glasgow and said: "It is a massive move for me and to have Ben, who is a close friend - in fact we grew up together - there is a big help, while I also played with Ryan [Finnerty] for two years and [know that] he is ambitious for the club."

Myers finished last season with English Premier League side Slough Jets after being cut by Cardiff Devils in January after playing nine games.

He said: "Last year was not the best scenario but I landed on my feet going to Slough and now being signed by Clan."
