Sammi Kinghorn made it five wins out of five in her first outing of the summer to set out her stall for this summer’s IPC world championships in London.

The 21-year-old, lowered the world record in the T53 200 metres record to 28.67 at the Arizona World Grand Prix in a major boost to her hopes.

And the wheelchair racer, who missed out on the medals at last summer’s Paralympics in Rio, also took victory over 100m, 400m and 800m before wrapping up her conquest in the 1500m.

Elsewhere, European Championship finalist Jake Wightman, freshly-returned from training at altitude in Arizona, broke his 800 metres personal best in his opening outing of the campaign by clocking 1:46.36 at the BMC Grand Prix in Solihull, the fastest effort by a Scot in almost 20 years.

Emily Dudgeon and Kelsey Stewart were fourth and fifth in the women’s 800m with Cameron Boyek fourth in the men’s 1500m.
