Alastair Kellock did not know he was taking over the Scotland captaincy until Rory Lawson passed on the message after coming on to the field to replace Chris Cusiter, but the Glasgow Warriors skipper slotted readily into the role to become the first Scottish captain to lift the Hopetoun Cup.
