Minutes after full-time at Twickers a message arrived in the inbox from Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes claiming it was now 1/3 that Stuart Lancaster would be out of a job by the end of 2015.
"England have been well below average throughout the tournament and Lancaster has to fall on his sword sooner rather than later," she added.
Less than 12 hours later Rupert Adams from William Hill was in touch to say he is 4/6 to still be coach when England face Scotland in February.
“We cannot see the RFU sacking Stuart Lancaster and he does not seem to type to walk away - therefore he is odds on to retain his role,” he said.
One of them has got it spectacularly wrong. Now what are the odds on that person being sacked before the year’s out?
