Glasgow lock Tim Swinson has promised a reaction against Treviso after Warriors refused to accept defeat by Munster without a serious review.

Glasgow went down 38-17 in a highly-charged European Champions Cup tie in Limerick last Saturday as the home team and supporters paid tribute to former skipper and head coach Anthony Foley 24 hours after his funeral.

But Swinson and his team-mates refused to use the exceptional circumstances as an excuse for their defeat and want to put matters right when they return to Guinness PRO12 action against the Italians at Scotstoun on Friday night.

"None of us like losing," the former Newcastle lock said. "It's one of the good things here, no-one has accepted the loss. It's not just, 'Oh, we went to play Munster at a tough time'.

"I know sometimes people could take it as a one-off but a lot of people here are frustrated and angry.

"We had to look at the game, it wasn't good fun to watch, but it was good to learn and good to move forward from it.

"Going forward as a group rather than breaking off and having a moan about one thing or another, it showed our group atmosphere, that we are doing it together and getting everything out and making sure we know where we can improve.

"The first 20 minutes were all Munster's momentum, they really came out hard and we were knocked a bit and didn't really manage to recover. We have talked about that in the week.

"We are a really good attacking side when we play how Glasgow play, and we didn't show that the previous weekend."

Swinson believes their approach after defeats is crucial in maintaining their push for a sixth consecutive play-off place.

"That's one thing that hit me when I first came here and it's been like this for five years, we are not happy with doing okay or being there or thereabouts," the Scotland international said.

"We want to be at the top, we want to win every game we play. It's such a good mental atmosphere."

Tommy Seymour makes his comeback from injury on the right wing while Italy flanker Simone Favaro returns to the starting line-up against his former club.

United States forward Langilangi Haupeakui and New Zealand-born lock Brian Alainu'uese could make their debuts off the bench, while Peter Horne, Corey Flynn and Lee Jones are also named among the replacements after recovering from injury.
